About Traveling Physical Therapists
Traveling physical therapists are responsible for traveling to patients' homes to provide services. They usually perform the same job duties as a physical therapist in a clinic, hospital or rehabilitation center.

Traveling physical therapists have the responsibility of obtaining patients' informed consent for therapy; performing and documenting an initial exam; recording the prognosis, treatment, response and progress; and administering medications and treatments. They travel to a preferred location of the country to work. The average assignment for a traveling physical therapist lasts about 13 weeks. After that time, the physical therapist can choose to stay in the location or travel to a new destination.
