For a small country, Panama has many exciting adventures for tourists. From rainforest hikes to coffee plantations, beautiful handicrafts and canal explorations, Panama is sure to delight.

  1. Visit the Canal

    • Watch ships travel the Panama Canal's Miraflores Locks from an observation deck. Visit the Miraflores Visitors Center for impressive exhibits on the Canal's history and importance in the world.

    Monkey Island and Gamboa

    • Feed monkeys on a relaxing cruise on Gatun Lake, a man-made lake that's part of the Panama Canal. Stay overnight in nearby Gamboa to explore lush rainforests.

    San Blas Islands

    • Snorkel, sunbathe and relax in the San Blas Islands, home to Panama's native Kuna Indians. The Kuna are famous for molas, wonderful fabric collages that depict scenes from nature and Kuna lifestyle.

    Black Christ of Portobelo

    • Visit the Black Christ of Portobelo who is celebrated annually in a pilgrimage on October 21. Seen as the patron saint of criminals, the Black Christ's origin is uncertain but his miracles are believed!

    Boquete, Coffee Capital

    • Smell and taste coffee from a Boquete plantation after an informative tour from Coffee Adventures, guides recommended by Lonely Planet. Although there are many cofffee tours in Boquete, Coffee Adventures offers nature hikes and birding too.
