Interior Decorating & Wall Plaques
Some rooms call for something a little different, and a unique look can be created by using wall plaques in place of more traditional pieces of art. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Types
-
Wall plaques can be used both indoor and out. Wall plaques come in a variety of different shapes, sizes, materials and designs. Some include wrought iron, brass, ceramic and even stone.
Features
-
A simple plaque can welcome visitors inside. There is a wall plaque to suit almost any room if enough searching is done. There are inspirational plaques, plaques with clever, witty kitchen sayings and welcome plaques for a hallway or entryway. A stone green man or Irish harp will suit any pub room, and a rose-covered declaration of love will suit a romantic bedroom decor theme.

Considerations
-
Walls along a staircase are often overlooked when it comes to decorating. When hanging plaques, consider where people are going to see them best. Opposite entryways are always a good place, and make sure they are at eye level. Staggered plaques going up a staircase can take full advantage of an often overlooked space.
Benefits
-
Changing plaques is easy. Plaques are easy to change and to move to freshen up the look of any decor. Mount hooks where several different sizes of plaques will fit, and simply swap out for new designs. Change plaques by the season or for the holiday, especially in kitchens, living rooms and other public places.
