How to Install Corel Photo Software
Corel makes multiple software solutions for editing digital photography, ranging in both price and depth. Installing a Corel photo editing program should be no different or more difficult than installing any other software on your computer.
-
Types
-
Depending on how you acquire the Corel software, installation may be slightly different. If you have an installation disc, the first step toward installation is to insert the disc. If you've downloaded an installation file online, open that file to begin the installation.
Installation Process
-
While different Corel products may have different installation steps and instructions, they all feature onscreen instructions designed to make the installation as simple as possible.
-
Considerations
-
Corel recommends that you close other applications and install the software to a new folder. For example, if you have Corel Painter X on your PC and are installing XI, don't install it in the same folder; instead give the new version its own.
Activation
-
Many Corel products require activation. Before activating, Corel often considers software a trial version, giving the user 30 days to evaluate the product. When you start your Corel software in trial mode, the first thing you'll get is a pop-up asking whether you'd like to buy or activate the software. Choose to activate and enter your serial number or purchase key.
