Back Door Trojan Viruses
A backdoor Trojan is a malicious program that enters a computer from another application without the user's knowledge. Once it has entered the computer, hackers can control or access the computer remotely.

Features
-
A backdoor does not directly enter a computer through obvious entry points like software installation, updates, or accessing the website. It enters the computer by exploiting another software. Usually, hackers design seemingly legitimate software like instant messaging applications, which have codes programmed to open access to a remote system. It's similar to hiring a nanny or babysitter in the house. While they are not direct threats, they pose security risks because they can leave the back door open and allow others you don't approve of to enter.
Capabilities
-
The backdoor's main objective is to remotely access and control a computer. A backdoor is capable of executing programs, terminating processes, shutting down the computer, or downloading more malicious files and gathering sensitive information.

Prevention
-
Look for antivirus programs that detects intrusion in computers or those that block applications from being automatically installed. Also, when installing applications read through the installation process and don't just click "Next" or the "I Agree" button all the time. Some software would want you to install additional software, which can be backdoors in disguise.
