Pesticides
-
Several pesticides are available for use in your yard to kill ticks. You can purchase them in either liquid or granular form. Pesticides that are effective against ticks include carbamates, pyrethroids and pyrethrums.
Targets
-
Granular pesticides are usually used to kill either ticks that are hatching from eggs or young ticks that hide in yards through the winter, waiting for the spring. Liquid pesticides target adult ticks living in a yard, according to the U.S. Army.
