How do I Fix Loose Sun Visors in Old Cars?
Cars have all kinds of little parts that can break as the car ages. One of the most overlooked areas is the car sun visor. These can sag over time, but you can fix them yourself.
-
Screws
-
If a screw is loose, tighten it by using a screwdriver and turning it clockwise. Many car sun visors have screws you should check before trying a more involved fix-it method. Often, the piece attaching the visor to the top of the car's interior is loose and simply needs to be tightened.
Tape
-
Using Velcro is an easy fix. Some older cars don't have a screw attachment, or the attachment has deteriorated to the point where another method is necessary to attach the visor to the car interior. You can use double-sided tape, or Velcro pieces to attach the visor. These give you the ability to remove the visor as well.

Clean Attachment Apparatus
-
Whether your visor is held in place by a screw or some other apparatus, it may simply need to be cleaned. Take the visor off the car completely. Clean the metal parts holding it on using an oil or jelly-based cleaner. Put the apparatus back together without reattaching it to the car, and move each of the parts in a circular motion to ensure smooth movement with no hang ups. Then reattach the apparatus, securing it tightly to the car.
