Online Childbirth Education Training for Teachers
Around 229,000 babies were born with the assistance of a midwife in 2005 alone, which showed about a 1,000 percent increase in a 20-year period. With natural childbirth on the rise, childbirth education training teachers are increasingly important. Luckily, there are programs that allow teachers to train and certify on line.

Function
-
Childbirth education teachers help pregnant mothers prepare for the possibilities of their birthing experiences. Most childbirth education specialists focus on natural childbirth scenarios, but the most comprehensive programs give instruction about all possibilities surrounding birth.
Programs
-
There are several well-known organizations that offer online childbirth education training for teachers. The Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association has a correspondence course for childbirth educators. The International Birth and Wellness Project also trains childbirth educators on line, as does the well-respected Lamaze program.

Requirements
-
Some programs, such as the training provided by IBWP, can be completed completely on line. Other online training options may allow some requirements to be completed by correspondence or online, while a certain number of hours of clinical experience or seminar attendance is also necessary. Requirements will vary among the licensing organization and your location.
