Start And End Time
-
One type of flextime allows workers to decide what time to start the work day, within certain parameters. For instance, a company may allow employees to begin the day anytime from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. Most companies expect a worker to set a time and stick with it.
Number of Days Per Week
-
Flextime also can mean working the normal number of hours per week, but divided into fewer days. For instance, an employee might work 40 hours, but work four days of 10 hours each rather than five days of eight hours each.

Telecommuting
-
Telecommuting is a form of flextime that allows an employee to work a portion of the work day or work week at home. This method may give a worker a few days a week that she does not need to go into the office.
