Use school colors in the party decorations.

Celebrate the accomplishment of a graduation with a festive party. Deck out the party area with easy homemade decorations that pay tribute to the graduate and save money that is better used for food for the celebrants.

  1. Foam Cut-Outs

    • Draw or trace around stencils to make over-sized numbers of the graduation year on foam core. Cut out the foam core with a sharp craft knife. Make the words congratulations, graduate and the name of the graduate with stenciled letters and foam board.

    Centerpiece

    • Make a card stock graduation cap and fiber tassel in school colors for a party centerpiece. Display the centerpiece on a square of foam with balloons or flowers inserted into it. Make tissue paper flowers in school colors for a graduation centerpiece surrounding the diploma.

    Memorabilia

    • Take a photo of the graduating student dressed in cap and gown. Stick the photo image to a piece of card stock. Insert the card stock cut-out into a table centerpiece or use it for a wall-hanging decoration. Make a memory display of photos from the school days of the graduate.
