    • Oracle offers the Open Office suite of full-function programs for free. Open Office programs include word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database applications. The software does not expire and Oracle provides regular product fixes and updates.

    Beta Versions

    • Software manufacturers often provide beta versions of programs before selling the applications on the open market. Beta versions are unfinished applications and users act as testers during the production process. Manufacturers typically provide beta software versions for free and often offer the finished market product to beta users at discount prices.
