How Are Flushable Diapers Made?

How Are Flushable Diapers Made? thumbnail
Flushable diaper liners make diapering simple and more sustainable.

Flushable diaper liners are a convenient way to make cleanup simpler when using cloth diapers or to cut down on the number of disposable diapers used. They help contain solid waste and absorb moisture and can be flushed, composted or thrown away.

  1. Materials

    • Flushable diaper liners are made from paper pulp and viscose, only viscose rayon, or wood fluff pup with sodium polyacrylate and cellulose rayon. All are biodegradable and from natural sources.

    Sustainability

    • gDiapers flushable liners are sustainably farmed. They are also Cradle-to-Cradle certified, meaning that all materials are either neutral or helpful when reabsorbed by the planet. The Imse Vimse liners can be washed for a couple of cycles to get even more use.

    Structure

    • Bio-Soft liners, made by Bummis, are non-woven and do not contain any binder so that they break down and degrade more quickly. gDiapers inserts do not contain any plastic, so they can fully decompose.
