Canon Copier Toner Recycling
Canon's Toner Cartridge Return Program launched in 1990 to reduce waste and conserve energy and resources. As one of the first companies to collect used cartridges, Canon reports collecting 190,000 tons as of 2010.

Benefits
-
Canon's program helps reduce hazardous materials and extend product life. The recycling process produces metal, plastic and reconditioned parts to generate new cartridges.
Program in Canada
-
Canon created the Clean Earth Campaign that collected 3 million cartridges in Canada. The Canon Toner Cartridge Return Program in Canada helps support the Canon Envirothon, World Wildlife Federation Canada and the Nature Conservancy of Canada.
Canadian residents can return a used cartridge by packing it in the replacement cartridge's box. A pre-paid mailing label affixes to the shipping box. The box can go to any of Canada's 6,000 post offices or street mail boxes.

Program in U.S.
-
In the U.S., the Clean Earth Campaign supports conservation of environmental resources. Most U.S. residents can return used cartridges via United Parcel Service (UPS). Canon's website offers printable UPS return labels for shipping used cartridges, available at http://ereturn.usa.canon.com. Canon's website requires entering the machine's serial number located on the back bottom of the machine. For drop-off locations, the UPS contact number is 1-800-PICK-UPS.
Please note this service is not available to Alaska and Hawaii. Alaska and Hawaii residents can request a U.S. Postal Service mailing label through the Canon website.
