Tropical Flower Wall Decor

If you enjoy the look of tropical flowers, include wall decor that features exotic plants in your home. The colors and designs of the flowers can remind you of some of your favorite locations and make you feel like you're on vacation each time you step into your decorated space.

Size

Large tropical flower wall accents, such as hanging flowers made of glass or metal, will look best in a room that has a wide main wall. The flowers can add a pop of color without making the space seem cluttered. For a smaller area, like a bathroom or study, tropical flower wall paper borders are appropriate.

Function

If the room you're decorating has a tropical theme, choose flower accents that also serve a purpose. For example, purchase light switch covers in the shape of an African tulip or a large clock for the wall shaped like a blue dawn flower. These decorations add "life" to the room while serving a function other than decor.

Considerations

Think about the main colors you want to use for your room, so that you can select tropical flower accents that are not too overwhelming. Tropical flowers come in bright hues like pink, purple, orange and yellow; enlarge a picture of blooms featuring these shades to be displayed on the main wall of the room. Instead of searching for large furniture pieces to match this, try using smaller accent pieces --yellow throw pillows or a pink area rug, for instance--to match the tropical flower picture.
