A service crew is a group of coworkers that labor as a team to complete tasks for an employer. Individuals are referred to as crew members. Service crews work in a variety of industries.

  1. General Qualifications

    • Most service crew occupations require a high school diploma or GED. Because service crew members typically work with customers or the general public, good communication skills are also necessary.

    Types

    • Service crews work in banquet and convention services, military, fast food, transportation, installation and maintenance situations.

    Responsibilities

    • Team environment tasks include installing equipment or products, serving food and waiting on large groups of people, providing services, or working with others to operate machinery or equipment that requires more than one person to function properly.

    Salary

    • Salaries vary for this occupation, depending on the type of service work being performed. In September 2010, the Indeed website listed a national average salary of $32,000 per year.
