Dish DP 301 Specifications
Dish Network's set-top receiver boxes have adapted and improved as new technologies and features became available, evolving from standard receivers to more advanced models with HD and DVR capabilities. One of their earlier model receivers was the DP (Dish Pro) 301.

The DP 301 receiver was designed with software featuring interactive capabilities, including the DISH Electronic Program guide, favorite and theme lists, parental control locks and Caller ID. The accompanying remote control, which requires four AAA batteries, can be programmed as a universal remote to operate up to three other components.
Connections

Cable connection types for the DP 301 include coaxial inputs for connecting the receiver to the satellite dish and to connect an antenna or cable service, and a coaxial outlet to connect to the TV. S-Video and composite RCA outputs are also offered, as well as a phone jack to connect a telephone line for additional services. SmartCard access is available on the front panel.

The DP 301 was manufactured and released to pre-HDTV specifications, as it does not feature any HD-capable outputs, and therefore displays video in 480p resolution. Audio output is two-channel stereo. Alternate languages (not all languages are available with all programs) include English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Japanese, and the on-screen menu can be set to English or Spanish.
