Why Is My Roomba Battery Not Charging?

The iRobot Roomba is a vacuuming robot that cleans carpet, tile, linoleum, vinyl and hardwood flooring, cleans under and around furniture and avoids drop offs, such as stairs. The Roomba comes with a home base and charger for the rechargeable battery. If the Roomba's battery is not charging there are some quick solutions to a few of the most common reasons.   1. Not Plugged In

    • If your Roomba is not charging, first ensure that it is properly plugged in. Check the connections to the wall, home base and Roomba unit. Both the charger and the home base have solid green indicator lights that will illuminate when properly plugged into a power source.

    Battery Not Seated

    • The the Roomba unit's green indicator light is not illuminated, the battery may not be properly seated. Remove the battery by pushing in the side clips and reinsert the battery until you hear the click.

    Dirty Charging Contacts

    • Another reason a Roomba's battery may not be charging is dirty charging contacts. Cleaning out debris from the contacts on the bottom of the Roomba will ensure solid connection and charging.
