Interior Decorating for Yurts
A yurt is similar to a tent but is round and has lattice walls for support. They're often built as a type of inexpensive dwelling or vacation home. The shape of these structures requires that you think imaginatively when decorating them. Does this Spark an idea?

Rooms
-
The rooms of a yurt are typically open. You can use movable panels or folding screens to divide the yurt into sections or rooms. For example, you can make walls with standard 2-by-4 pieces of lumber and sheets of paneling. These can't be attached to the outer walls, though, so you must use care when constructing them.
Pictures
-
Use S-shaped hooks to hang pictures on the walls. You can also hang posters or photographs without a frame by using small pieces of tacking tape to hold them to the lattice supports. Hang wreaths by looping a piece of wire around a lattice support and twisting it together tightly.

Furniture Placement
-
If you choose to not use dividers, set your furniture in small groupings to give the feel of having separate rooms. Place smaller furniture along the outer walls, since the ceiling/wall will be lower there than at the center of the yurt. Feel free, though, to choose items that are bulky, because yurts are usually open and roomy.
