How to Rent a Steamer for Wallpaper Removal
Wallpaper steamers simplify the job of removing old wallpaper by using steam heat to loosen the glue backing the wallpaper. Since it's unlikely you'll need steamers frequently, renting makes much more sense that buying, notes Home Depot. Does this Spark an idea?

Where to Rent
-
Try your local hardware or home improvement store, or use Rental HQ's store locator to find a wallpaper steamer rental near you (see Resources).
Considerations
-
Find out how much the deposit is, what attachments are available (for corners), how much a late return costs and in what condition you must return the steamer. Then ask if you can get a lesson in working the steamer before you rent it so you feel competent using it.

Needs
-
To hold the rental once you make the reservation, you'll need to provide a credit card number. You will also need access to a car to pick up the steamer, unless you arrange for delivery. Lastly, the steamer itself doesn't remove the wallpaper, it just loosens it. You still need to scrape off the wallpaper by hand.
