  1. Choices

    • At major retail outlets selling both brands, you find more models to choose from in the GE line. For example, in the fall of 2010, Home Depot offered 45 French-door-style refrigerators by GE and only 25 from LG. Best Buy offered eight side-by-side LG models and 40 GE models in that configuration.

    Sizes

    • If you're looking for a super-size fridge, you can find a GE model with side-by-side doors that exceeds 29 cubic feet. One of LG's largest models is a 27.6-cubic-foot refrigerator with French doors.

    Prices

    • If your budget is a determining factor in which model to purchase, GE may be your best bet. Shoppers could get a GE model with a top-mounted freezer for $450 in September 2010, while the lowest-price LG found among major retailers cost $540.
