A computer assembly training workshop provides an instructional environment in which attendees learn how to modify, repair or assemble computer hardware. The workshop also helps participants learn how to test computer equipment efficiency.

  1. Target Audience

    • Computer assembly training seminars are open to a diverse audience, including individuals with no background in information systems, according to the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Information Network (O*NET OnLine). However, training content providers may require that attendees possess at least a two-year college degree in computer science.

    Training Topics

    • Training teaches computer assemblers and other non-professional students how to use the tools of the trade, including laser power meters, hoisting racks, digital multi-meters and soldering irons. Training sessions also coach attendees on how to inspect and test wiring installations, clean parts using air hoses and position workpieces to facilitate wiring.

    Skill Set

    • Participants in a computer assembly training session hone their mechanical acumen, electronics expertise, operation and control knowledge, manual dexterity and computer troubleshooting skills, according to ASKEDU, an online training information provider.
