Bouillabaisse

Originating from Marseille in Provence, this dish is a fisherman's stew made famous for its taste and uncommon combination of fresh fish ingredients. Restaurants in Provence add their own touches to the recipe, yet the most common fish found inside this dish are four different types of white-fleshed fish and two types of "oily" fish. The stew is also made with vegetables, wine, garlic and saffron broth.
Coq au Vin

The name translated into English means "chicken with wine," and it is one of the Burgundy region's most famous dishes. Coq au vin is composed of chicken, wine, bacon, garlic, mushrooms and pearl onions. Some people marinate the chicken in wine and seasoning for up to two days before cooking so that the chicken is especially tender and full of flavor.

This French delicacy may be difficult for some people to try because of the unusual nature of its main ingredient, a plump little snail. Escargot is a type of snail, which is cooked while still inside of its shell with garlic, butter, parsley, shallots, cloves and Pernod.

Boeuf Bourguignon is a hearty stew from Burgundy that contains beef in a stew of red wine, bacon, carrots, onions and mushrooms. This stew is best made at least a couple of days in advance, as the beef becomes even more flavorful while the stew sits in the fridge.

Crepes are similar to a pancake in terms of ingredients and taste, but are served paper-thin and with flavorful toppings. Crepes are commonly served with sugar, chocolate or fruit. Some people enjoy crepes with a combination of toppings, such as bananas with whipped cream and a hazelnut spread.
