Ever professional pool cleaner will have a regular skimmer to clean the surface of the water, a deep-netted skimmer to clean debris under water and a vacuum to clean the pool floor. They should also carry at least two brushes, a metal one for most pools, and a softer brush for vinyl-lined pools.

Chemical balance is critical in maintaining a clean pool, so all pool professionals will have a testing kit that measures the alkalinity, PH and chemical saturation of a pool.

Chemical kits may vary based on the professional's personal preferences, but every pool maintenance person should have chemical sanitizer, PH increaser, PH decreaser, alkalinity increaser, pool shock compound, water clarifier, tile cleaner, defoamer, cover cleaner, filter cleaner and enzyme cleaner.
