A blue peel is applied in layers which darken with each application. Local anesthetic may be required for more than one layer. Discuss the number of layers to be used with your doctor or skin-care professional. Each layer removes damaged skin to reveal healthier, tighter, more-toned skin.

    • Your skin will be cleansed and a topical anesthetic applied. Your doctor can also prescribe pain medications to be taken prior to the application to help with pain management. The peel is mixed and applied to your skin. After your peel, your skin will look blue according the depth of the peel. The skin then peels as if you had a bad sunburn to reveal healthier skin.
