    Health Reasons

    • Wooden spoons are great for stirring food because the properties of wood make it naturally anti-bacterial. In addition, food does not stick easily to wood because wood has tight pores.

    Cooking Benefits

    • Many cooks prefer stirring with a wooden spoon because they can be used to stir in any type of pan without scratching the pan. In addition, wooden spoons are not good conductors of heat, so they will stay cool while stirring.
