    • According to the BLS, the average annual salary for choreographers was $42,130 in 2009. The average hourly wage was $20.25. The BLS says that between 2008 and 2009, choreographers received an average wage increase of 2 percent.

    Top-Paying Industries

    • Choreographers employed by junior colleges, performing arts companies, amusement parks and arcades, and elementary and secondary schools earned the highest income of all choreographers in 2009, the BLS reports. The average annual salary for choreographers in these industries was more than $48,000.

    Top-Paying States

    • The average annual salary for choreographers in New York, Hawaii, Florida and Georgia was more than $57,000 in 2009, according to the BLS.
