According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, these industries include aerospace product and parts manufacturing, computer systems design, colleges and universities, petroleum and coal products manufacturing, and facilities support services. The salary for these industries ranged from $51,520 to $63,590 as of May 2009.

According to a report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics in May 2009, New Jersey, California, Washington, New York and Nevada are the highest-paying states for firemen jobs. The annual salary in these states ranged from $56,250 to $71,810.
