The Project Management Institute (PMI) provides risk management training sessions to professionals with a background in project administration such as construction management and information technology security. Qualified program graduates may also earn the Risk Management Professional certificate.

  1. Requirements

    • There is no formal academic requirement for a PMI risk management training seminar. However, the institute requires that risk management certification applicants possess a college degree and relevant work experience. Applicants with a high school diploma or associate degree must possess 40 contact hours of project risk management education and at least 4,500 hours of project risk management experience. For applicants holding a bachelor's degree, the prerequisites are 30 contact hours of project risk management education and at least 3,000 hours of project risk management experience.

    Training Topics

    • PMI risk management training sessions teach attendees risk evaluation techniques in projects, safety procedure formulation and business partner credit risk assessment methodologies. These sessions also instruct participants on how to ensure that project personnel complete duties on time.

    Skill Set

    • Project risk management professionals attend PMI training courses to hone their analytical acumen, financial dexterity, regulatory acumen and time-management aptitude.
