A pin-up and sailor party is a theme that harkens back to the 1940s and 1950s when many men were away at sea and they put up pictures of popular models to help them pass the lonely hours. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Sailor

    • Both the men and women at the party can dress up as sailors if they wish. The costume often includes white shoes and paints, a beret, a handkerchief and a sailor-style shirt. These shirts can often be found at a costume or army surplus shop.

    Pin-Up

    • A costume for a pin-up girl is similar to dressing up as an attractive model from the 1940s or 1950s. The costume includes bright red lipstick, putting your hair up, high heels and either a retro swimsuit or dress.

    Accessories

    • These costumes can include accessories that fit with the nautical theme. Bringing plastic life preservers and anchors or earrings and cufflinks in the shape of a boat compliments the party theme.
