National Rally Day for Father's Rights
The National Father's Day Rally, organized by Children's Rights Initiative for Shared Parenting (CRISP), is in response to an increase in divorce rates that separate fathers from their children. CRISP, a nonprofit organization based in India, works to improve a father's legal rights in divorce cases and to promote shared parenting through education and resources.

History of the Rally
-
The first rally was held on June 20, 2009, in Bangalore. The date chosen had important significance as it was Father's Day, a holiday celebrated throughout the world.
Goals of the Rally
-
The CRISP organization wanted to bring to light the problems that fathers face when separated from their children through divorce. The rally also brings attention to CRISP's demands for children to (in part) have "equal access to the separated parents, ... educate the parents on shared parenting ... and punish persons who misuse 498A (Dowry Act) and Domestic Violence Act as a tool to deprive the father from child access."

Other CRISP Activities
-
The CRISP organization works to change how custody cases are handled in India. This includes efforts to disband the Women and Child Ministry and replace it with a Ministry for Children and to obtain government funds to study the effects that a father's absence has on his children.
