Mobile homes can be purchased through dealerships and directly through manufacturers.

Mobile homes, which are also known as manufactured homes, are created in a factory and can be purchased for a lower price when compared to new traditionally built homes. Buying a mobile home in California can be done through a dealership as well as directly through the manufacturer.

  1. California Manufactured Housing Institute

    • The California Manufactured Housing Institute is a nonprofit trade association linking mobile home manufacturers and dealerships with the buying public (see Reference section). This organization provides detailed information regarding new home designs, financing options and direct contact with manufactured home dealerships and makers within the State of California.

    Dealerships

    • Mobile home dealerships are located throughout the state of California and provide a wide variety of manufacturers and home styles. The Mobile Home Park Store (see Reference section) offers a current database of all licensed mobile home dealerships within California.

    Factory Purchase

    • Mobile home buyers can purchase their homes directly from the factories where they are made. This eliminates dealership fees, which can save a buyer thousands of dollars. Buying a mobile home directly from the factory will allow a buyer the ability to customize the exterior and interior design of his home. Factory Expo Home Center (see Reference section) works directly with the buying public, and offers newly constructed mobile homes to California, Nevada, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Arizona.
