Eating a balanced diet can help to keep blood sugar levels stable.

Hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar, is commonly associated with diabetes, but can be present in persons who do not have diabetes. Symptoms may include fatigue, dizziness, headaches, depression, forgetfulness and a craving for sweets. Following a diet that is low in sugar and higher in protein and fiber can help to alleviate symptoms.

One serving of carbohydrates is the equivalent of one slice of bread or one half cup of pasta, corn or rice.
