What Is the Average Price for Music at a Wedding Ceremony?
The cost of ceremony music will vary depending on several factors. You will need to choose which type of musician you would like to play during your ceremony. The length of your ceremony may also affect the cost as well.

Types
-
Although many couples choose the standard pianist to play the ceremony music, this can be a chance for you to share your personalities by choosing a different type of musician. Violinists, guitarists or even a bagpipe player could play the music for your ceremony. Each performer will have a different cost. Pianists range from $300 to $400, guitarists can charge between $100 and $425 and violinists can charge between $800 and $1,250 dollars.
Bands
-
If you would prefer a group of musicians over a single performer, the average cost is approximately $1,000 for a string trio or quartet. Larger groups or more complex group setups could increase the cost. Another option to consider is if you would like a vocalist to accompany the band, which will also increase the cost.

Considerations
-
When getting a quote from musicians, make sure you ask about the length of the performance, if that also includes their setup and breakdown times as well as their transportation. You may have to kick in extra for travel allowances. Also, you'll need to determine if you want them at the rehearsal or reception, because this will impact cost.
