    • Transport supervisors schedule the transportation of goods on a regional, state or national level. They are responsible for the accurate and safe delivery of all goods. They manage routes, drivers and the maintenance upkeep of vehicles and equipment.

    Personnel

    • As a supervisor, the transport manager must engage in all aspects of human resource issues, including discipline, hiring and terminating employees, and developing performance evaluations. Transport supervisors are required to enforce all company policies to ensure drivers and warehouse personnel follow all guidelines.

    Skills

    • Transport managers must understand all Department of Transportation requirements, provide leadership, engage in customer service issues and understand profit and loss documentation.

    Education and Experience

    • Companies generally require a minimum of an Associate of Arts Degree in business and two years of experience in management or employee relations to be hired as a transport supervisor.
