What is the Best Color for a Unisex Baby's Room?
For the parents-to-be who don't find out their baby's gender prior to arrival, choosing nursery colors can be a tricky proposition. Finding the best colors is equally as challenging for parents of boy-girl twins that share the same space, or for those who don't want to use gender-specific colors. Does this Spark an idea?

Classic Choices
-
Classic unisex baby colors include yellow, green and white. A white-on-white nursery is ideal for either gender, as are yellow and white, green and white, or yellow and green color combinations. The introduction of a nonclassic color doesn't change the neutrality: white paired with linen or yellow with a light gray both retain their unisex appeal.
Modern Options
-
Modern unisex nursery colors tend to be brighter or more saturated than the classic pastels. Orange is a common choice. White or light gray tone it down and keep it fresh. Rich chocolate brown with sea green is a modern take on an old classic. Turquoise paired with red is more girlish when it's brighter; if the colors are darkened by a few drops of black paint, the scheme becomes gender-neutral.

Adding Colors
-
Some neutral nursery colors combine well with gender-specific colors, should parents--or their toddlers--decide to add one. Pink, for example, complements orange and together the two are very girly. Equally, orange pairs nicely with light blue and is ideal for a boy.
