Price

Decide first approximately how much you want to spend on your GPS unit. Because so many devices are on the market, choosing a price bracket ahead of time can help narrow your search. Most manufacturers offer entry-level units for around $100, with prices ascending to upwards of $1,000. Most manufacturers will allow you to connect your device to the Internet one time and download the most up-to-date maps. Users are often charged for subsequent updates.
