Mixing 1.6 ounces of eucalyptus oil in a quart of water creates a fresh-smelling disinfectant for cleaning toilets, tubs and sinks, according to the Green Living Tips website.

The Quol Kids website recommends making a natural laundry detergent by combining a small amount of pure soap, grated into flakes, with 1/4 cup borax and 5 ml. of eucalyptus oil. Keep in mind that although borax is natural, it is poisonous, so keep this mixture out of reach of children.

A few drops of pure eucalyptus oil will remove sticky residue from surfaces and take grease, oil, paint and ink out of clothes, according to Green Living Tips.

Add three drops of eucalyptus oil to a spray-bottle filled with warm water and shake well to create a deodorizing spray that doubles as a pest repellent. The Aroma-Essence website recommends shaking the mixture before each use, since the oil easily separates from water.
