Proper Placement of Dartboards thumbnail
To properly play darts, you need to properly place your dartboard.

When it comes to setting up a dartboard, the most important items to keep track of are the distance from the throwing line and the height of the board off the ground.

  1. Throwing Distance

    • The official recommended distance to set the dart throwing line is 2.37 meters or 7 feet and 9 1/4 inches. This distance is measured along the floor from the throwing line to the wall the dartboard is mounted on.

    Height

    • The proper height to place a dartboard is 173 centimeters, or 5 feet 8 inches, with the measurement running from the floor up to the center of the bull's-eye.

    Diagonal Distance

    • To double check your dartboard placement, measure the diagonal distance from the bull's-eye to the throw line. This measurement should read 9 feet 7 3/8 inches.
