Baby Wall Decorations

Baby Wall Decorations thumbnail
Nursery wall decorations help babies develop their eyes and brains.

Wall decorations in a baby's room serve a dual purpose: they help create a welcoming, serene environment, and they give the baby something to look at. Viewing wall decorations helps a baby learn how to use his eyes and, in turn, helps his brain develop. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Decals

    • Wall decals are large, removable vinyl stickers. Airplanes, birds in flight, willow trees, cherry trees, flower gardens, clouds, stars and giraffes are just a small sampling of available decals. Buy them as the company produces them, or order them in customized color combinations. When it's time to redecorate, simply peel them off the walls.

    Storybook Art

    • Vintage children's books often have distinct and colorful artwork. Use art from one book, either pulling pages out if the book is damaged, or making high-quality color copies. Frame several pages in large frames with wide mats. To really highlight the artwork, use monochromatic framing and matting that blends into the wall.

    Mirror

    • A mirror offers a way for a baby to see something of great interest---herself. A large oval mirror in a colorful vintage frame adds to the décor and provides long moments of study. Place it at a height where the baby can easily see herself when she's held.
