Food Combining With Avocados

Avocados are fibrous fruits native to tropical climates. They are rich in potassium, vitamin A and other nutrients, and are praised for their ability to improve digestion. Luckily, it is easy to incorporate these healthy fruits into everyday meals. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Significance

    • According to Diet.com, avocados help control diarrhea for individuals who have Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). People with IBS should pair avocados with foods such as applesauce and mashed potatoes. Eating dairy and other fibrous grains with the avocado will hinder the avocado from successfully controlling the diarrhea.

    Effects

    • For good digestion, do not combine avocados with other high protein foods, such as nuts, cheese, soybeans or meat, in the same meal. The combination of two proteins can lead to gastric discomfort, according to Raw Food Explained. Instead, eat avocados with vegetables and fruits, and watch how this improves digestion.

    Incorporation

    • Add slices of avocado to vegetable salads, fruit salads and sandwiches, or chop it up into guacamole to be eaten as a dip. Avocados can even be blended into a liquid, which some people use to mix rice milk with, or add to their healthy smoothies.
