Flexible Denture Information

Flexible partial dentures like Valplast represent an alternative to conventional rigid metal-based dentures, according to the Dental Health Directory. Flexible models do not require rigid attachments to the patient's remaining teeth or gums.

  1. Fit

    • According to the Dental Health Directory, the appeal of flexible partials has to do with their better design, fit and materials. They are also made more quickly than traditional dentures, and the nylon resin does not break.

    Appearance

    • Some of the most appealing features of flexible partials are their light weight and improved appearance over metal dentures. The clasps are less noticeable and more natural-looking, according to Valplast Partials.

    Less Allergenic

    • Aside from their comfort and appearance, another advantage of flexible partials is that their materials are less likely to cause allergies. Although synthetic materials can cause allergies in some patients, flexible partials do not cause problems associated with the acrylic and metal materials in other dentures, according to Valplast.
