Taking Care of Lucky Bamboo
Lucky bamboo is known as Dracaena sanderiana and is not actually related to traditional bamboo. A lucky bamboo plant with three stalks means happiness, five stalks means wealth and six means good health, according to Chiff. Does this Spark an idea?

Water
-
Lucky bamboo is normally grown in a container filled with water and rocks. The water in this container should be changed once or twice a week, according to Plant Care. You should also use distilled water rather than tap water. Most tap water contains fluoride and other chemicals that can be harmful to lucky bamboo.
Light
-
Lucky bamboo may wither and turn yellow if placed in direct sunlight. Place the plant in an area that gets filtered sunlight. You might also want to move the plant's location occasionally, especially if you notice the leaves changing color.

Repotting
-
Place your lucky bamboo in a container that is approximately 2 inches larger than the one it is growing in. Place a thin layer of sand at the bottom of this container, following by rocks or pebbles. Allow the roots of the plant to dry completely, and then place it in the pot and add fresh water to the top.
