New Jersey Medicaid Income Guidelines
The United States offers two public health insurance options. Medicaid is administered by the states while Medicare is administered by the federal government. New Jersey residents must meet certain eligibility requirements to qualify for Medicaid services.

Families
-
Families with dependent children may qualify for Medicaid in New Jersey, depending on their income. Children must be under the age of 18 and the total family income, prior to taxes, must be equal to or less than 350 percent of the national poverty level or if earned income is less than 133 percent of the federal poverty level.
Medically Needy
-
The blind, disabled and elderly qualify but also must meet maximum income limits. The income level depends on the number of people in the household, ranging from $367 per month for one person to $825 per month for six people. The medically needy also must have limited assets, which also depends on the number of people in the household, ranging from $4,000 for one person to $6,400 for six people.
