How Tall Does a Pink Cherry Willow Tree Grow?

Cherry trees are beautiful large trees known for their blooms and fruit.

Weeping cherry trees, frequently called willow cherry, are a beautiful tree for spacious yards and gardens. Willow cherry trees are grown for their glossy green leaves and pink and white flowers.

Height

Willow cherry trees grow 20 to 30 feet tall and 25 feet wide. This is a fast growing tree with a weeping crown and lush spring blossoms. The deep green leaves change to a rich golden-yellow color in fall, revealing long bare branches throughout the winter.

Growth

The tree only requires pruning to control size and weak or broken branches. Weeping cherry prefers well-drained, clay-loamy soil and full sun. Because of its non-invasive root structure, the tree is okay to plant near sidewalks and driveways and is moderately drought tolerant.

Pests

Common insects are spider mites that make the leaves and new branches yellow. Aphids cause malformations on new growth and destroy immature fruit. Using a horticultural oil will free the tree of pests and help ensure it reaches its full height potential.
