Pheasant hunting in Arizona is an outdoor recreation available on public land each fall. The Arizona Game and Fish Department is the government organization in charge of regulating hunting, and it sets rules for when, where and how you may hunt pheasant on public land.

To hunt pheasant on public land in Arizona you must have a valid hunting license issued by the state. If you wish to hunt during the Limited Weapon-Shotgun Shooting Shot Hunt, you must apply and if your name is drawn you will be issued additional permit-tags. There is also a drawing for the required hunt permit-tags for the Junior's Only season.
Seasons and Area

The open season for archery and falconry pheasant hunting on state land runs from early October to early February. The Limited Weapon-Shotgun Shooting Shot Hunt season runs from mid-September to mid-October. This season is split into four segments based on the permit-tag issued. These hunts must take place in the game management unit 40B. This unit is the Yuma Valley, west of East Main Canal. There is also a juniors only Limited Weapon-Shotgun Shooting Shot season in mid September. These hunts are also restricted to unit 40B.

Pheasant can only be lawfully taken on state land if you are hunting with a bow, crossbow, a pistol or shotgun that is firing shot, or through falconry. Dogs may also be used to take the birds.
