Physical Characteristics

Mature barley plants can reach up to 4 feet tall, and feature flat grass blades. Barley grown in California normally produces flowers during the April to July time period.

Planting

Barley grass seeds require a planting depth of approximately 2 inches, and winter seedlings do best when planted between the months of October and January.
