Wild rose musk oil is extracted from the seed of the rosehip, a shrub that originated in Europe but also grows in some parts of Chile and Argentina. This oil contains a high concentration of vitamin C, vitamin A and polyunsaturated essential fatty acids; it also has moisturizing and lubricating properties. The form of vitamin A present in musk oil is responsible for skin regeneration and healing of skin damage, which is why this oil is sought after for scar therapy.

The essential fatty acids present in musk oil retain water in the skin's upper layer, which increases hydration of the skin and helps it maintain elasticity and firmness.
