Hyperacusis can affect children.

The term "hyperacusis" refers to a sensitivity to auditory stimulus. It is not always a hearing problem, but an issue with sound vibrations. The sounds may be perceived as confusing or exaggerated. It can cause balance issue and intense ear pain and even seizurelike episodes. Some diet changes may help symptoms.
