Finding Tutorials
-
As of 2010, numerous websites, including Creative Cow and Greyscale Gorilla, offer free video tutorials for a wide variety of Cinema 4D techniques. Don't become overwhelmed by the sheer number or content of the tutorials. Focus on the ones that seem near your skill level. "Creating a Realistic Spaceship Scene" may not be as useful to a beginner as it is to an expert.
Connecting with the Community
-
Sometimes sites have a strong community of experts that visit and interact with it daily. Ask for their assistance in blog comments or on forums. Sites may also have a monthly contest where users submit a piece based on that month's rules. Become involved in these contests, even if you don't send in your submission. The practice will give you greater insight into Cinema 4D and will let you see what others made for their submission. These sites release their own tutorials occasionally.

Staying Updated
-
Like most graphic software, knowing what the latest version of Cinema 4D can do is a huge advantage when creating interesting clips, and it can save hours of labor. Often, a new release will spawn a number of "What's New in This Version" tutorials by third-party websites that will show you the basics of each new feature.
