How to Join the PAF

The F-16 is one of the principle fighters used by the PAF.

Pakistan has a proud history with regard to its Air Force. It has been involved in or deployed in many conflicts since Pakistan's independence, and continues to seek levels of excellence and specialization through the courses, equipment and expertise it affords its members.

Requesting Services

Visit one of the certified selection centers. You will be given both academic as well as intelligence tests. These will be followed up by a scheduled interview as well as two medical exams to ensure your basic fitness. Final candidates for entry into courses will be decided at Air Headquarters.

Requirements

For many of the different air force tracks in Pakistan, you need to be between 16 and 22 years old. You must also be a citizen. Some other technical programs mandate the applicant to be between 18 and 30. Women can apply for the aeronautical engineering program, but only men can apply for administration, special duty and all other courses.

Training

For some of the career tracks in the Pakistan Air Force, training periods can be very extensive. The basic air defense long course can take up to two years. The aeronautical engineering course takes four years; about the length of time for a bachelor's degree in the United States. Applicants to the logistics branch must already have college level academics under their belt upon starting the course work.
